We have limited need-based scholarships available through the Sumter Opera House Y.E.S. Fund for performances selected

for youth and families.

How does it work?

The Y.E.S. (Youth Education Scholarship) Fund was created to make it possible for underserved students to attend Sumter Opera House concert programming. Scholarships, made possible by grants and private donors, cover the cost of admission and are available to students on a free or reduced lunch program. Teachers must provide verification of the number of students in the group that are eligible for funds (form provided) and must fully complete the application to be considered for funding approval.

Who can apply?

Any K-12 school can apply. Home schools, preschools, private programs, clubs and groups are not eligible for scholarship funding. If you have a question regarding eligibility, you may call (803) 436-2126.

How do I apply?
To apply for a scholarship, please complete the online application on the Matinee Series page. If you are having trouble with the application on our webpage, you can also find it HERE
You will be notified via email of the funding decision. Submission of an application does not guarantee funding.

Other Requirements
Teachers receiving Y.E.S. scholarships agree to work with their class to complete and submit a set of pre and post show exercises which will be provided by the Sumter Opera House.
