You're invited to the Sumter Opera House's Grand Closing Bash on June 13th—marking the end of an era and the beginning of an exciting future! Join us for a once-in-a-lifetime celebration. Scroll down to view the line-up of events that will lead us into the last act!​

Get those toes tapping and hearts singing with The Fabulous Equinox Orchestra on the main stage. Afterwards, we’ll hit Main Street in a New Orleans-style dirge—a spirited farewell where we'll ceremoniously lock opera house doors as it begins the long-awaited renovation and historic revitalization project. The festivities will cap off with an afterparty at La Piazza featuring live music, dancing, delicious bites, and plenty of drinks. It’s the bee's knees and a swell way to say auf wiedersehen, au revoir, arrivederci, and until we meet again ol’ gal! Tickets for the concert and the afterparty are sold separately, but if you’re a hep cat looking to make the most of this grand evening, purchase both together to snag a special discount. So don your finest 1930s attire and join us for a night of revelry, nostalgia, and old-fashioned fun. It's the last hurrah before her long intermission, Old Sport. Their name pays tribute to the legendary Levon Helm of The Band and Elton John's hit “Levon,” reflecting a rich musical heritage of the 1970's artist/songwriter generation.

 

The trio features Michael David Hall on guitar and lead vocals—with a soaring five-octave range—Sumter's own Jake Singleton on harmonies, bass, and percussion, and Ryan Holladay on guitar, mandolin, and harmonies.

The United States Air Force Heritage of America Band; Heritage Winds Quintet will take the stage to showcase our nation’s musical excellence. The ensemble seamlessly blends the commanding power of the Air Force Heritage of America Band with the refined artistry of the Heritage Wind Quintet, delivering a program of dynamic patriotic marches, stirring ceremonial pieces, and evocative wind ensemble compositions.

 

Each performance is meticulously crafted to celebrate our nation’s rich heritage, showcasing precision, passion, and exceptional musicianship that will resonate with audiences of all ages. This free concert is a special invitation to the Sumter community in a display of "uncommon patriotism" and continuing supporting our military heroes.

Concert Fundraiser

Join us at the Sumter Opera House to  celebrate history and music with  "Remember Me," a heartfelt musical tribute and fundraiser supporting the new Lincoln Museum & Heritage Complex, honoring the legacy of Lincoln High School and Sumter’s African American community. Co-presented by the Sumter Opera House and the Lincoln High School Preservation Alumni Association, this concert features three extraordinary musicians: acclaimed tenor Victor Ryan Robertson, known for his performances in opera and Broadway; gifted pianist and composer Adrianne Duncan, who has performed internationally and contributed to Grammy-nominated recordings; and visionary cellist Jeffrey Zeigler, celebrated for his groundbreaking work with the Kronos Quartet and collaborations with musical icons like Philip Glass and Yo-Yo Ma. The program will showcase rare spirituals and music that bridge the past and present, celebrating history, resilience, and the transformative power of music.
